Break out the sunscreen for another beautiful blue bird day at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Powder Hound here, fetching up your fantastic snow report on this fine Friday, December 27, 2013. The 100 inches of snow we’ve seen this season so far has allowed for loads of new terrain to open early including the Headwall and Pheonix Bowl, which are scheduled to receive the rope drop tomorrow! There will be a beacon line for the first 50 people at the Silver Queen lift. 13 lifts are cranked up this morning to lead you to the 86 trails covered in a 41 inch base, 57 of which have been groomed to Colorado’s Best Corduroy! Make sure to take a few good runs down Houston, our Groomer’s choice trail today.
Not sure how to get to the groomer’s choice? Then, take a free guided tour and learn to navigate your way around the green and blue runs without getting lost. This is a great way to start off your visit to Crested Butte Mountain. Tours meet at 9:15am and 1:15pm by the orange flags located at the Guest Services hut. For more information, call 970-349-2211.
