It’s Fat Tuesday AND it’s going to be another GRANDtastic day here on the slopes of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. On this Tuesday, the 4th day in March, you can expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures reaching the upper 30’s. There is a 60% chance for snow today, which would add on to the 20 PLUS feet of snow the mountain has already received this year! Thanks to the TWO feet of snow that have come down in the last week, the 84 inch base is skiing and riding so well, you won’t want to stop taking turns on the 121 trails that are open. If you’re looking for some cruisers to sail down, you have 72 slopes to choose from; but make sure to give Paradise Bowl a whirl, as it’s the groomer’s choice of the day. Celebrate Mardi Gras mountain style here at Crested Butte with the Mt. Crested Butte Chamber and Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce’s annual Fat Tuesday Parade. Whether you decide to watch the spectacle on Elk Avenue or join in on the festivities, you don’t want to miss this celebration at 5:30 pm, as it is a true Buttian style party!
