Not only is it SKI FREE for everyone, but it’s a free POWDER day with over THREE feet of snow that have dumped on the mountain in the last two weeks, 8 inches of which fell in the last 24 hours, creating a deep and powder-packed 28 inch base. Mother Nature along with the diligent snow crew have created one of the most exciting opening days Crested Butte has ever seen with 6 lifts running, (including Red Lady AND Paradise Lift), giving you access to a whopping 33 open trails, 32 of which the groomers have created Colorado’s best corduroy on; in fact, they are recommending Upper Ruby Chief as their groomer’s choice of the day. So just stop in the Main Ticket Office at the Adventure Center to receive your free ticket and enjoy the powder packed slopes and circus carnival theme opening! With temperatures reaching a comfortable 36 degrees and light snow continuing to fall, your day will be incredible on and off the slopes. When you’re done getting face shots on the 64% of beginner and 36% of intermediate terrain that is open, or simply want to give your legs a break; Butte 66 is the best place to work on your winter tan, satisfy your taste buds and rest your legs all while listening to the sounds of CJ Conway from 12:30-2:00, followed by Butte Grass, featuring Tyler Grant and Friends.
