Snowmakers and Patrol have been braving the chilly temps and today we will be opening the following new terrain: Ruby Road, Upper Keystone, Upper Park, Lower Twister and Big Al’s. We currently have 5 lifts up and running, shuttling skiers and riders to a total of 37 trails, 19 of which have been groomed. The Groomer's Choice for today is Upper Ruby Chief, which can be accessed via the Red Lady Express, one of the fastest quad lifts around. All told, we have 246 acres open today, and our natural snow depth is 22". We are going to see the temperature rise back up into the low to mid 30's today and those Colorado bluebird skies will make it feel even warmer out there. If you're looking to bundle up, try on some new gear at Thin Air Sports. Located in the Mountaineer Square Courtyard and open from 8am- 6pm, Thin Air Sports has top of the line brands like Mammut, Millet, Lole, Ibex, Smith, Osprey and Hestra. We don't mess around with the cold here, and we know the secret to a longer day on the hill is warmer extremities. Take my word for it and see the difference good socks, gloves and core-wear can make.
