Happy Closing Day skiers and riders of Crested Butte Mountain Resort! Today is Sunday, April 9, 2017, and it’s going to be a superb day to take in the views from any of the 12 lifts turning, leading you to 112 open trails, spread across 1,317 acres of skiable terrain. While Crested Butte has some of the greatest steeps and bumps, we are also home to phenomenal groomers! Our mountain ops team worked diligently throughout the night creating Colorado’s best corduroy on 61 trails and recommend Lower Twister as their groomer’s choice of the day! 2016/2017 was a season for the record books. January 2017 was the snowiest January in history. We buried the Butte and during yesterday’s LandShark Pond Skim three kiddos mounted up three pairs of bindings onto one pair of skis and skimmed their way across the entire pond for the first time in Crested Butte history! We received 324 inches of snow, ate 85,000 pounds of French fries and with your help we recycled 64.22 tons of paper, glass, plastic and aluminum!
